Buccal fat removal selectively reduces the deep buccal fat pad to refine midface width and create a more sculpted lower-cheek contour. The procedure is performed through a hidden intraoral incision, preserving the parotid (Stensen’s) duct and nearby facial nerve branches.
Procedure
How Buccal Fat Is Reduced
The buccal fat pad is an encapsulated deep fat compartment that can create a round, juvenile cheek shape even in patients with low overall body fat. Through the mouth, the surgeon gently delivers a measured portion of the pad and removes only the excess to avoid hollowing over time.
Intraoral Access
Small mucosal incision inside the cheek — no visible scar.
Pad Delivery
Buccal fat is teased forward while protecting Stensen’s duct.
Conservative Excision
Only a controlled volume is removed to preserve long-term midface support.
