Leadership
Meet Dr. Charles Herman
Dr. Herman brings a deep background in aesthetic surgery, shaped by years of advanced training, experience, and leadership across respected medical institutions. An author of four major plastic surgery textbooks and almost 100 journal articles and textbook chapters, Dr. Herman is an authority on many of the procedures he performs. He has lectured across the globe on topics that include facelift techniques and body contouring, and his textbooks have been translated into multiple languages and in the libraries of medical schools and hospitals around the world.
Dr. Herman has been on the faculty of several medical schools and currently serves as Director of Cosmetic Surgery Services at Temple University Health System, performing surgery in his office suite and at Temple-Chestnut Hill Hospital in the beautiful upscale Chestnut Hill neighborhood Northwest of Philadelphia, often referred to as “Philadelphia’s Garden District.”
With more than two decades of experience on New York’s Park Avenue and in Northeastern Pennsylvania, Dr. Herman brings world-class plastic surgery to the Philadelphia region and beyond. Patients appreciate the sense of trust he brings to each step of their care.
Physician Assistant
Amy Pollick
Amy is an experienced plastic surgery physician assistant. She has worked with Dr. Herman for two decades, assisting him in surgery as well as seeing cosmetic surgery patients in the office during their surgical care and for medispa procedures including Botox, fillers, chemical peels and laser treatments. She is certified in Botox and filler administration. Amy completed her surgery fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine/Norwalk Hospital after receiving her Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at King’s College in Pennsylvania. In addition to working in cosmetic surgery, she enjoys cooking, traveling, skiing and spending time with her family.
Medical Assistant and Aesthetician
Lauren Donohue
Lauren joined Herman Aesthetiques after working in several prominent medical practices in the Philadelphia and Main Line Areas. She is a certified medical assistant and certified aesthetician. Lauren has a passion for aesthetic services, particularly skin care. Outside of work, she has interests in dancing, traveling, and skiing, and she has helped children in a variety of settings including behavioral therapy. She attended Lock Haven University and Delaware Community College.
Office Coordinator
Julia Broadley
Julia brings years of managerial and customer service experience to Herman Aesthetiques. She has worked at many well-regarded medical providers, including University of Pennsylvania, as well as in the fashion industry. Julia enjoys working in fashion design and cosmetics. She is also continuing to advance her skills and career at Herman Aesthetiques and currently pursuing her nursing degree.

Dr. Herman’s Distinctions
Academic Training
Dr. Herman completed a highly competitive six-year BS/MD program through Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA, and Albany Medical College, where he again graduated Summa Cum Laude with Distinction in Research.
He completed his plastic surgery training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, where he received the Leo Davidoff Society Award for excellence in teaching. He later served as a faculty member there for more than 15 years.
Dr. Herman went on to attend The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, completing his MBA with Honors and earning designation as a Palmer Scholar—an academic distinction reserved for top graduates.
His surgical work has been featured on the Discovery Channel and The Learning Channel, and he has been a guest on Sirius XM Radio. He has earned clinical and research awards from the British Medical Association, the American Publishers’ Association, and the American College of Physicians.

Awards & Publications
Dr. Herman is the author of several textbooks used by surgeons nationwide. His work on Grabb’s Encyclopedia of Flaps earned a British Medical Association Book Award for excellence in surgical scholarship.
His textbook Encyclopedia of Body Sculpting After Massive Weight Loss received the American Publishers’ Association National Book Award in the category of clinical medicine.
Earlier in his career, the American College of Physicians recognized his studies in photodynamic cancer therapy and Churg–Strauss-Vasculitis related research with national awards presented at their annual scientific meetings.
His work in hospital infection prevention earned the William Rutala Prize in Infection Control from the Association of Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) for research on innovative airborne disinfection methods.
Dr. Herman brings unparalleled experience, having performed over 20,000 plastic surgery procedures over the past two decades, and an impeccable track record of safety and patient satisfaction to the Philadelphia Area and beyond. His patients have traveled from many regions of not only the United States but also internationally.
